"Heer" Cover by Shweta Subram and Studiounplugged ft. Raashi Kulkarni

Shweta Subram’s cover of “Heer” will leave you wanting to ‘hear’ more!  The Canadian sensation has proven time and again that she is a true gem of a singer and has a gift that will help propel her higher and higher in her career.  “Heer” was one of the tracks from Yash Chopra’s last directorial venture, “Jab Tak Hain Jaan.”

After a wave of collaborations, her latest being Khushnuma with The Piano Guys, Subram has once again teamed up with Studiounplugged to present their own rendition of “Heer”. Accompanying them is the talented Raashi Kulkarni on piano.  Subram’s tonal quality helps kick this song to a new level, and makes it sound fresh.

The song begins with Shweta’s rendition of the popular Madan Mohan classic “Doli Chadhte Heer Ne Bain Kiye” from Heer Ranjha and transitions into A.R. Rahman’sHeer” from “Jab Tak Hai Jaan”. The original singer of Doli Chadhte Heer Ne Bain Kiye is Lata Mangeshkar, while Harshdeep Kaur sang Heer.

Shweta Subram, winner of Shankar Mahadevan’s singing competition and Salim-Sulaiman’s feature for IIFA 2011, earlier released a cover of Saadi Galli Aaja with Studiounplugged and has worked with Raashi Kulkarni in Naiem Reza’s composition, “Dancing Petals”.
