It’s that time of year again! Eid Mubarak everyone! Every year Muslims around the world celebrate two Eid celebrations, the first is Eid-al-Fitr which is celebrated after the month of Ramadan. Today is the second Eid, called Eid-al-Adha, which translates to Feast of the Sacrifice.
Today Muslims around the world honor the willingness of the Prophet Ibrahim (Abraham) to sacrifice his first born son, Ismail, and his son’s willingness to be sacrificed as an act of submission to the will of Allah. The religious story goes to explain that Allah intervened and switched the young boy for a Lamb, saving Ismail. Today people celebrate this beautiful holiday with food and family just as every holiday should be celebrated. After the Eid prayers, the numerous plates of food, and the 8 million hugs in threes from loved ones we’ve got a list of popular Eid tracks to relax to!
