Jassi Sidhu is a "Hipshaker"!

Jassi Sidhu has become a well known name over the years in the bhangra genre.  He used to be part of the band B21, and then broke off as a solo artist.  He’s been around since almost two decades, but has managed to make his music evolve with the times.  His songs have no boundaries and are popular beyond the UK Bhangra scene.  It’s been over two years since his last release, but now he’s back with “Hipshaker.”

After the success of his 2011 album ‘singing between the lines’ Jassi embarked a non-stop touring schedule which saw him perform in countries as far and wide as Africa, USA, Canada, Hong Kong, Malaysia, India, Australia as well as the UK.  He also ventured back into the world of Bollywood and Hollywood with a feature in the 2011 international film breakaway “Speedy Singhs”.

Now, 2013 see’s the most recognizable voice of his generation come back with a new sound and vibe for ‘Hipshaker’.  The song has some unique elements that are sure to catapult the track to the top of the charts.  It features the co-production skills of long time friend and international superstar DJ Bups Saggu.  The cherry on top, or rather, the Super cherry on top is that the track features the rap debut of Canadian Youtube sensation and comedienne Superwoman!

‘Hipshhaker’ is traditional with a twist.  That is, it features traditional punjabi lyrics, modern day electronica beats, a fresh new female rap artist with her own unique style and of course the unmistakable voice of Jassi Sidhu!

The big budget video for the song directed by renowned actor Ameet Chana (Bend it like Bekham) also features international model and actress Jasmine Jardot (Jab Tak Hai Jaan).  The bar for UK productions has been raised with this video’s eye catching look, feel and picturisation.
