Indian audiences first to see "Star Trek Into Darkness"

Every time May comes around, it feels as though all the sci-fi movies start to be released.  This year is no different and will see the release of “Star Trek: Into Darkness.”  Sci-fi fans in India are in for a surprise as the movie comes to India on May 10th, a week before its International release.  Sadly you can’t beam yourself to India from here, but you can catch the film when it releases in the US (May 17th)!

The movie will be released in 3D, which is something that will take Star Trek to a whole new level.  Talking about it, director J. J. Abrams says:

“For the story to move forward, this had to be a more ambitious movie than the first.  The action and the scale are light years ahead.  Bringing IMAX and 3D technology in will give audiences yet another level of excitement and fun to be had.”

The film is constantly engaging with fans through innovative and cool ideas which can be seen all over the internet.  After giving a 30 minute sneak peak of the movie, the team launched the ‘Star Trek Academy’, an application which quizzed the “trekkies” about their Star Trek knowledge and generates an official customized ‘Star Trek Certificate’ based on their knowledge.

John Harrison, played by Benedict Cumberbatch, has created quite a stir amid the audiences.  Talking about the character, J. J. Abrams says,

“What Benedict brings to the role is natural intelligence, wit and sophistication, but he also brings this kind of unbelievable grounded truth to it and that is wonderful for a character that you want to fear, question or maybe even relate to”.

With just a few days to go, advance bookings have already started in full swing and by the looks of it; the movie is going to be a hit. It’s going to be a visual treat to watch Spock, Kirk, John Harrison come back and continue the league of “Star Trek”.
