Reality shows are the next big thing! After the successes of “Dance India Dance Little Masters” and “Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Little Champs,” Zee TV announced a new show that will kickstart on February 23rd, “India’s Best Dramebaaz.” This show will give young kids beween the ages of 5-12 a platform to pursue and groom their acting abilities. This talent hunt show will put these young kids through a series of tasks that will help them develop into young actors.
With such a great concept, you might be wondering who will be judging these talented young individuals. The judges that have been roped in for this upcoming show are none other than actor Vivek Oberoi, actress Sonali Bendre, and the renowned film-maker Anurag Basu! This country-wide talent hunt began about two months ago and finalized down to 18 creative, bright, and ambitious young children. This will be Vivek Oberoi‘s television debut and he is extremely excited about it.
Sonali Bendre has nothing but good words to say about this upcoming venture she will be a part of.
“The show concept is unique and Zee has always been a frontrunner in reality shows. It’s my first time on Zee TV and the show presents a win-win situation for me. I just love kids. I’m glad that “India’s Best Dramebaaz” provides kids with an atmosphere that puts children at ease, allows them to come into their own and be themselves. The kind of talent we have seen is overwhelming, they’re such cute kids and they talk so much especially when they speak about their parents. Their innocence is adorable and is bound to tug at one’s heartstrings.”
What are the types of things the judges are looking for in these children? Anurag Basu stated,
“The format is new and a first on Indian television. I have worked with Zee TV before and it is difficult for me to turn down their offer. I am also selfish as I only do things from where I can take something back. With “India’s Best Dramebaaz,” I am getting an opportunity to interact with so many talented children. We are not saying that we will create future superstars here. Our main objective will be to bring out the spontaneity of the kids where they will perform without being conscious. That is why apart from watching their performances, I am spending time with them personally to understand their creativity. I think naughty, mischievous kids will do better in this space! As a director, I look into the technical aspects of every act and guide the contestants in that regard.”
The launch of “India’s Best Dramebaaz” was announced at the recent Zee Cine Awards 2013 by Sonali Bendre and Anurag Basu in Mumbai. This show is produced by Essel Vision. Make sure you tune in to Zee TV on February 23rd at 7:30 pm to catch these young stars along with your favorite judges!
