A popular face on television, Amit has been mistaken to be a Gujarati by his fans several times before. Amit, who’s a hard-core Punjabi, is often caught in situations where his Gujarati fans converse with him in their mother tongue. Co-incidentally, Kai Po Che was extensively shot in Gujarat.  Since the film is set in Gujarat, Amit did various workshops to get his body language and dialect closest to the locals. The shooting took place in Vadnagar and many areas of the old city in Ahmedabad. While filming in Gujarat, Amit spent a fair amount of time mingling with the locals and has been well-influenced by the Gujarati culture.

Directed by Abhishek Kapoor, “Kai Po Che” has managed to create quite a buzz amongst the audiences and critics alike. The film is based on Chetan Bhagat’s novel, The 3 Mistakes of My Life and is slated to release on the 22nd of February.  Keep it locked to UrbanAsian for continued coverage of “Kai Po Che”.
