Benefits of Silica

Silicon or Organic Silica is one of the minerals found abundantly on the planet, but there are very few foods which give your body the required amount of silica.  The human body needs to constantly repair its cells and rejuvenate.  Silica plays a major role in growth and cell re-generation. Our body needs Silica regardless of the sex and age factor. In fact, research shows that humans have lost close to 80% of their silica content by the time they become adults.

llBENEFITS OF SILICA

HEALTHY BONES

Silica is a required mineral to help the absorption of Calcium and Vitamin D, which are important for bone growth, density, strength and flexibility. Bones are made up of phosphorous, calcium and magnesium.  A silica supplement is needed to help with depositing these minerals in the bones. It also accelerates healing bone fractures and reduces scarring.

HEALTHY SKIN

Skin being the largest organ of the  body contains Collagen, which forms 75% of the dermis, and is known to maintain elasticity and acts like a glue and holds it together. The connective tissues which is made up of Collagen, Elastin and Mucous carbohydrates hold huge amounts of silica which retains moisture and prevents aging. Silica is vital to maintain good skin, hair, nails and gums.

HEALTHY IMMUNE SYSTEM

Silica helps in making the immune system stronger and helps in formation of antibodies/antigens and in the conversion of  Lymphocyte B to Lymphocyte T; reduces the swelling of lymphatic system.

GOOD BRAINS

Alzheimer’s disease is caused by the accumulation of aluminum, which is taken in by drinking water supplies.  Silica has been proven to reduce the accumulation of aluminum. Silica when added to water with aluminum, acts as a barrier and prevents the body from absorbing it. Hence, silica prevents the collection of aluminium in liver, spleen , brain and therefore helps in maintaining a healthy nervous system.

NOTE : I personally prefer liquid silica compared to tablets, as the liquid is easier for absorption and reaches the cellular level quicker.
