Sherlyn Chopra Extends Her Support to a Brave Victim!

December 16th, 2012– A day that will forever be remembered in Indian history as a 23-year old medical student was gang-raped, assaulted, and thrown out of a moving bus.  This atrocious incident has taken the country by storm, and international celebrity and actress Sherlyn Chopra extended her support to the victim by lighting a candle and saying a little prayer for her on Christmas.

Sherlyn expresses,

“I am deeply saddened by what happened to the victim in Delhi, I am hoping for a miraculous recovery for the brave young girl. I also wish that her family has the courage to sail through the tough times.”

Sherlyn decided not to celebrate Christmas this year, wearing black to symbolize a mark of protest against the absence of humanity and justice.  She’s created quite a movement by making her followers conscious about the situation on social media platforms like Twitter and Facebook.  Women safety should be on top priority according to Sherlyn, suggesting that security should be tightened for public transport services and the government should be in a proactive rather than reactive mode.

Even though the innocent girl has passed away, Sherlyn and others continue to fight against the injustice, hoping that an incident like this is never repeated again.
