Urban Asian has closely been following a young star who is a Detroit Singer, Songwriter, and Producer. He goes by the name of Mickey Singh!
Mickey Singh steps into the scene with a unique approach to Chris Brown and Rihanna’s ‘Birthday Cake Remix’. Utilizing an energetic sample from the hit ‘Choli ke Peeche’ and featured vocals from fellow American Punjabi vocalist Amar Sandhu the duo reinvent this anthem for South Asians globally.

Born and raised in India, Mickey began singing at the tender age of 3. After moving to the US at 14 Mickey explored his musical creativity and developed an artistic blend of South Asian and western sounds. With support from his family to pursue his artistic passion he recognized the importance of heritage and culture no matter where you might live in the world.
Taking a different approach to Urban-Desi fusion Mickey is set to truly bridge the gap between Indian and American music genres. On stage Mickey creatively incorporates Hip Hop and Bhangra dance and is sure to get you out of your seats. Not afraid to think outside the box, this singer/songwriter/producer is a breath of fresh-air in a market of overly commercial manufactured sounds.
Mickey’s vocal ability, paired with his charming looks, and ability to dance the socks off any crowd is not something to take lightly. A new generation of American Desis have officially entered the playing field and with Mickey at the helm it will be a tough act to compete with.
Hailing from the U.S. both Mickey and Amar Sandhu introduce the first installment of a promising series of releases that truly fuse their experiences as South Asian Americans. Their take on the ‘Birthday Cake Remix’ is rapidly becoming a favorite among dance teams and DJ’s across the planet.
