IBDF Brings SAROJ KHAN to the US for DANCE WORKSHOPS

The Institute of Bollywood Dance and Film (IBDF) is a new and unique training arena for performers looking for potential careers in the Indian film industry. Founder Rujuta Vaidya is looking to bridge the gap between passionate amateur performers and working professionals, giving extraordinary training and networking opportunities to any who are interested in moving towards a career in the performing arts.

This September IBDF is opening its doors to welcome Bollywood’s legendary choreographer SAROJ KHAN to teach dance workshops to anyone with the desire to learn from one of the greatest artistic figures in the history of Indian cinema. Rujuta Vaidya has trained extensively for years in India under Saroj Khan and is her only disciple in the United States. She is paralleling her Indo-American career by bringing one of Bollywood’s greatest women to some of USA’s biggest cities – details below.

Rujuta Vaidya, an acclaimed choreographer herself, has worked with Britney Spears on her 2009 “Circus” Tour, The E! Network “Morning Show”, the Black Eyed Peas 2010 “E.N.D.” Tour, Oprah Winfrey’s Oscar Special, The Slumdog Millionaire Academy Award winning track “Jai Ho” with A.R. Rehman and John Legend at the Oscars, Disney Channel’s “Cheetah Girls: One World” feature film, and the “Journey Home” A.R. Rehman 2010 World Tour. In addition to these recent projects she has also worked on various Bollywood films over the last decade, as well as choreographing Priyanka Chopra’s NFL commercial.

Saroj Khan is a pioneer in Bollywood, widely known for her innovative and classical technique based choreography. Saroj Khan’s visionary mind helped the one and only Madhuri Dixit and many other starlets, achieve significant career successes and a meteoric rise to fame. Her teachings of grace, strength, precision, subtlety and expressiveness have graced some of the most iconic songs in Bollywood. Her projects include choreography in feature films Lagaan, Don, Jab We Met, Love Aaj Kal, Agneepath, Agent Vinod, Veer-Zara, Devdas, Bride and Prejudice, Tezaab, Khalnayak and Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, amongst several other blockbuster films.
