Having toured across Canada and Florida the past three years, recording artist Prita Chhabra recently had a chance to perform in New York City for the first time! Her first bite of the big apple definitely made a lasting impression on the Florida based pop star! Read on to get a glimpse into Prita’s adventures in the city that never sleeps.
Straight off the plane from Orlando, Prita took a tour of the city before performing at a late night after-party for the New York Indian Film Festival at K-Lounge, inside New York’s legendary Bombay Palace restaurant.
The following night, Prita walked the red carpet at the closing gala of New York’s 12th annual Indian Film Festival (NYIFF), which took place at the prestigious Skirball Cultural Center at New York University.
Fans were also excited to see Prita hanging out with UrbanAsian’s very own, Natasha Chandel (aka Mumbai Chopra), creator and star of the hit comedy web series “Landing In Mumbai“! Prita’s song “Tera Pyar” was recently chosen for the last scene of Landing In Mumbai’s second season finale, but the pair only met for the first time at the NYIFF gala.
During the week, Prita was also invited to participate in the “Shop For Good: From New York To Bombay” charitable auction organized by Ashlene Nand of Haute Trotter. The event was held at the WIX Lounge in Manhattan, and was hosted by supermodel Ashika Pratt.
Prita was also invited the following weekend to perform at the prestigious Empire Room in the historic Empire State Building, for their monthly BollyFusion party hosted by New York media personality BoyBoy.
But, perhaps most exciting, was Prita’s last stop before she left New York – the legendary MTV Studios in Times Square, where Prita got a chance to meet world famous MTV personality Sway!
If you’re sad that you missed catching Prita in NYC, you could always head over to Toronto! The lovely singer is heading back to Toronto July 1st! You can sense the excitement, as fans have started tweeting pics of a huge Tigerfest billboard in Toronto’s Eaton Centre, promoting the upcoming concert and wrestling exhibition being held by former WWE superstar Tiger Ali Singh and his legendary wrestler father, Tiger Jeet Singh. Prita and Jus Reign will be performing alongside many other celebrities at Tigerfest, as part of Brampton’s Canada Day celebrations on July 1 at the Powerade Centre.
We hope that Prita’s performances continue to be successful!
