Katy Perry to perform at the DFL Indian Premier League opening night in Chennai!

Katy Perry will be joining some of Bollywood’s biggest stars for the opening night of the 5th season of the highly awaited Indian Premier League (2012) in Chennai! Organized by Wizcraft International, the opening night will feature Bollywood stars like Amitabh Bachchan, Prabhudeva, Priyanka Chopra, Salman Khan, Kareena Kapoor, Ravi Drums, Colonial Cousins and more will take center stage for the glamorous event.

Amitabh Bachchan will be taking the stage with self-professed cricket fan, Priyanka Chopra who is very excited to perform for the event! Bollywood’s Chammak Challo, Kareena Kapoor, International superstar Katy Perry, the legendary choreographer Prabhudeva, and “Dabangg” star Salman Khan will also be performing for the show.

 

Shaimak Davar has choreographed the show and his dance company will accompany the stars performing.  Colonial Couisns have teamed up with international percussionist and composer, DJ Ravi Drums and a group of talented percussionists known as First Project and local percussionists, d’Frens for a stunning performance. Poet Prasoon Joshi has also written a verse celebrating cricket which will be read out loud by Amitabh Bachchan.

Prasoon said:

The DLF IPL is a fantastic and one of its kind event. Challenge before me was to write inverse about the spirit of cricket. The poetry captures this spirit and makes a commitment that whatever one may do in life, one would always want to be connected to the game of cricket.”

The ceremony, organized by Wizcraft International, will take place at the YMCA College of Physical Education, Nandanam in Chennai on 3rd April 2012, Speaking on Wizcraft’s role, Sabbas Joseph, Director Wizcraft International said:

“We are thrilled that the IPL chose us to deliver the unique Opening Night this year. It gives us the chance to create an enthralling Opening experience for what rightfully would be termed as Indian Cricket’s biggest spectacle. We have the best performers and each of their performances will have the audience begging for more.”
