Bollywood Music What's Happenin'

FilmFare Awards recognizes Krsna's "Tanu Weds Manu!"

The 57th FilmFare Awards held on 29th January, 2012 saw music Director Krsna being recognized for his brilliant work in his debut movie, ‘Tanu Weds Manu.’

Krsna, who hails from a non-music background, confessed that he started off his training in Hindustani Classical music just 3 years back under the tutelage of Ustaad Mehboob Khan. In spite of this drawback, Krsna contributes his success to the passion and the love he shares for music. A believer that music should integrate in a manner that it accentuates the theme of the movie; Krsna composed the music for Tanu Weds Manu, keeping in mind that the story was centrally based in Lucknow, Punjab and Northern India.

Tanu Weds Manu received a lot of positive reviews from the audience after it’s release. Elated by the response, Krsna is motivated to make his next movie, “Tamanchey” a super success in terms of music. For “Tamanchey”, Krsna has taken the music to reflect a very retro mood. He is sure that the retro music will bring out the essential character and theme of ‘Tamanchey,’ which stars actors Nikhil Dwivedi and Richa Chadda.

We are eagerly waiting for the music release of the movie, ‘Tamanchey’ to see if Krsna’s work in ‘Tamanchey’ surpasses that of Tanu Weds Manu.
