The title of this article might have thrown you off a bit, but 3 Idiots are not really fighting terrorism. Although they are 3 Idiots in the film. The movie 3 Idiots was a huge hit, not only in India but also around the world in households and cinemas. The comedy, drama, and romance the film brought made it a success. Along with that, the film brought something more; not to the audience but to the security forces of India including the Border Security Force (BSF) and the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF).
During the song “All is Well” Ranchodas Shamaldas a.k.a Phunsukh Wangdu a.k.a Aamir Khan is trying to fix a helicopter-like device. The device is a clever and a great idea that has grabbed the attention of security forces in India. The invention is being adopted by two agencies in India to fight anti-terror and counterinsurgency operations.
The machine in the movie is the same as the one built by Idea-Forge, a company founded by three IIT-Bombay alumni. The Defence Research and Development Organization (DRDO) have teamed up with Idea-Forge to refine the UAV machine and have named it Netra.
What started out in a movie is now being used to fight terrorism. 3 Idiots after all are 3 geniuses.
