This may be the second Don movie, but it has just achieved a first for Indian Cinema! What am I talking about? Well, today (Nov. 30th) Don 2 has been featured prominently on at the top of the frontpage of IMDB.com, the industry leading film database site used by tens of millions of movie fans worldwide. Rarely – if ever – does a Bollywood film receive such a high-profile position.
This is a good sign for Bollywood, which has steadily gained prominence in the west after Slumdog Millionaire captured both the hearts of audiences and prestigious awards back in 2008. Since then, the west has been more accepting of Indian Cinema and culture. So, it is quite possible that Don 2 may see similar success in the US.
Megastar Shahrukh Khan returns to the world of international espionage and reteams with director Farhan Akhtar for the upcoming action thriller DON 2 opening in theaters worldwide on December 23 in both 2D and 3D versions. Shot in Germany, Malaysia, Switzerland, and India, the highly anticipated sequel also features Priyanka Chopra, Boman Irani, Lara Dutta, and Om Puri with new music from Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy.
