Double celebration for Foji at the UK Bhangra Music Awards

London sensation Foji a punjabi singer, writer and producer scooped up two awards at the UK Bhangra Music Awards 2011, last night.

The popular performer was presented with the Best Video Award for ‘Pumbeeri’ and also collected the Outstanding Contribution to the Bhangra Industry Award.

 Foji said: “I am absolutely overwhelmed to have received these awards. I am so thankful for all the love and appreciation and the constant support that I have received from all the fans and the UK Bhangra music scene. “

A few Bhangra legends were also in attendance on the night at the glitzy central London location. These included Channi Singh from Alaap and Deedar Singh Pardesi who was presented with the Lifetime Achievement Award. Amarjit Sidhu and Shabnam Mahmood hosted the evening and there were performances by a number of established and upcoming artists, making it a proud moment for everyone involved with the UK Bhangra music scene.

Foji is going from strength to strength as he picked up an award at the Brit Asia Music Awards earlier on in the year.

He recently released the video for ‘Sajnaa’, which has received a lot of praise and his much-awaited, new track ‘Minta’ will be releasing in 2012.
