On the sacred Martyrdom Day of Shri Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib Ji, the pop singer Daler Mehndi plans to visit the Gurdwara Sis Ganj Sahib as his humble tribute to the unmatched sacrifice of the Ninth Sikh Guru.
Mehndi who recently crooned two songs including a Shabad ‘Dukaalang Pranaasi’ for the movie ‘I am Singh’ quoted,
“Shahidi of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji would always be remembered in the history. He sacrificed his existence for the freedom of devotion of another religion. His unique sacrifice would always be remembered! Never in the records of history has Guru of one religion sacrificed his life to save the freedom of another religion.”
