Ranbir Kapoor replaces Shahrukh Khan

Shahrukh Khan may be riding high right now with Ra.One, but we’ve heard that Ranbir Kapoor has replaced SRK in Sajid Nadiadwala’s upcoming film, “Two States”. The movie is based on a Chetan Bhagat novel.

Earlier there were rumors that Farhan Akhtar was to direct. Then, when SRK was still slated for the lead role, it was to be directed by Vishal Bharadwaj. Now, however, there is a new production house handling the film. In fact, two production houses!

“Two States” is to be a joint venture between Karan Johar and Sajid Nadiadwala’s respective production houses. Curiously, SRK has been replaced by Ranbir Kapoor even though KJo is at the helm.

Apparently, it was Karan who approached Sajid to co-produce the film.

Admits Karan, “Abhishek Varman who assisted me on My Name Is Khan and is now creative director on Student Of The Year has written a simple and fantastic adaptation of Two States. Sajid has the rights of the book and we are in discussions about an association.”
