Indian TV What's Happenin'

TV Heartthrob Karan Kundra bags lead film role

After winning over thousands of hearts as Arjun Punj in the hit television show Kitani Mohabbat Hai, Karan Kundra has taken the leap from the small screen to the big screen as he begins shooting for an upcoming Punjabi film.

Titled ‘Pure Punjabi’, the movie tells the story of four close friends in Punjab who have a passion for music and is described by the makers as a totally youth-come-family orientated musical drama.

Alongside Karan, the film stars Manjot Singh (Oye Lucky Lucky Oye fame), Nav Bajwa, Kanwar Zorawar Singh, Sangram Singh (Khatron Ke khiladi fame), Dhriti Saharan, Deepak Raja, Sukhbir Singh, Narinder Jattu, Paamjot Singh and Harpal Singh.

It is being made by the same producers of ‘Mel Karra De Rabba’, ‘Jinhe Mera Dil Luteya’ and ‘Yaar Anmulle’.

Karan’s popularity soared to new heights after his first appearance on TV and constant persistance from his fans saw Kitani Mohabbat Hai become the first Indian daily soap to be brought back on television for a second season due to public demand.

Fans will also be looking forward to seeing Karan bust a few moves in the film after seeing him participate in dance reality show ‘Zara Nachke Dikha’ alongside co-star Kritika Kamra.
