Rani's ready to "Play This Game"

Once you get to know Rani, I’m sure you’ll agree that we should change the phrase “Jack-of-all-trades” to “Rani-of-all-trades.”  This girl is a creative powerhouse, whose journey began at age 12 – initially writing poetry before turning her hand to songwriting and singing.

A self-made woman, she  is the talented manager of UK artists like Arjun and is the director of Raine Records. While she has published her poetry as well, readers may be familiar with her songwriting.  She is the lyricist behind singles such as “Diwana” (Arjun) and “Crazy,” which later featured on a Universal India remix album called “Crazy on the dance floor.”  Rani is also the creative Hindi spark behind Raxstar’s infamous “Jaaneman” which has racked up over 700,000 views on youtube!

Oh and if that’s not enough, did I mention she’s also extensively involved in charity work?

Now, after managing artists for three and a half years, Rani is ready to “Play This Game” as a singer-songwriter.  “Play This Game” is a song about a young girl who experiences her first love, but knows the guy is not a one woman man.  The song stresses the need to move on after heartbreak and to move away from simply playing mind games.  Arjun, the man behind hits like “Remember Tonight”, “Stargazer” & “Vampire” has produced the song.

“My main musical influences are artists such as MJ, Shai, Blackstreet, Boys II Men, Donell Jones, Teedra Moses, Amel Laurrieux, Chaka Khan and Toni Braxton,” said Rani. “As you will hear in my music, my favourite genres are Soul and real RnB. From a songwriter’s perspective, it’s always heart-warming to see people singing your lyrics and posting them all over social media sites.”

Although Rani has kicked off her musical career, she does not plan on giving up management; in fact she is only just getting started!  Watch out for much more from this multi-talented woman in the near future.  We’re excited to follow her musical journey!
