Back by popular demand, the Milton’s Downtown Street Festival, Tiger Wrestle Fest returns this year and includes performances by the talented Prita Chhabra and Milton’s own soul singer/songwriter Khalel!
A familiar face to Milton, Prita performed at both Milton’s Santa Parade and Troy’s Toy Drive in 2010, and recently appeared to speak about multiculturalism at both EC Drury high school and Tiger Jeet Singh public school in Milton.
A well-known name in both Toronto and New York, Khalel has been featured on two FLOW 93.5 FM compilations, in addition to having two of his tracks receive top 3 positions in FLOW’s “Top 8 @ 8” fan requested countdowns.
This year the festival will take place on Saturday, June 4th and all proceeds will go towards the Japan Relief Campaign, supporting the Salvation Army, Halton Learning Foundation and visiting children at McMaster Children’s Hospital.
The festival, presented by Scotiabank has been taking place for over four years bringing in between 20,000 to 30,000 people each year peaking at 50,000 last year thanks to the inaugural Tigers Wrestle Fest. This year they’ve added the “Tigers High School Challenge!” which will pit top student athletes (4 male and 4 female) from each of the three local high schools in a strongman style competition. The young athletes will participate in a very challenging array of events that will culminate with each team pulling a bus across the finish line!
There will also be a few surprise guest appearances by former WWE and TNA Superstars that will join the Tigers at the conclusion of the wrestling event autographs on specially designed Tiger Fest t-shirts produced by Desi Wear. Proceeds from the sale of merchandise will go to local charities.

There will be a minimum donation of $5 for seating at the event with proceeds going to support the local Salvation Army, while standing and watching from Main Street will be FREE.
Tiger Fest organizers are also asking the public to either drop off non perishable canned goods in advance at their local Scotia Bank, or bring them along to fill up the bus that will deliver all items to the Salvation Army.
