Bollywood What's Happenin'

Mohabbatein Stars quit acting

It seems like Bollywood celebrities have started to call it quits on acting. Uday Chopra has decided that after Dhoom 3 he is ready to call it quits on his Bollywood career.

Uday’s career started off from his home production Mohabbatein in 2000, where he played the role of a spoiled middle class boy who attended Gurukul University. He was later seen in films such as Neal and Nikki, Mere Yaar Ki Shaadi Hai, the Dhoom series and Pyaar Impossible.

Chopra tweeted:

Ok confession time… Dhoom 3 is my swan song…my last film…no im not giving up acting… quite the opposite, acting is giving up on me!”

Earlier this month Shamita Shetty also announced that she is quitting acting too! Shamita also started her short lived Bollywood career with Yash Raj’s production Mohabbatein, and later acted in films like Zeher, Bewafa, Cash and Fareb, all while dropping item numbers like Sharara Sharara (Mere Yaar Ki Shaadi Hai) Chori Pe Chori (Saathiya) and Hey Baby (Hey Baby!).

In search of a new avenue, Shamita has decided to pursue a career in Interior Designing for which she is taking a course in London.

This shows, success in Bollywood isn’t based on family ties but rather based on Talent. I guess these Mohabbatein stars didn’t get much mohabbat from Bollywood!
