After the press conference took place for Mallika Sherawat and Brian White’s new movie called Politics of Love, our very own Yogesh Chotalia from Urban Asian got a chance to speak to the stars!
Although Mallika fell in love with the script as soon as it came her way, she was very nervous about it. Where Mr. White had Denzel Washington to look up for inspiration to do this film, Mallika had no one. No Bollywood actor has played a role in a mainstream movie opposite an African-American co-star. Although no mainstream Bollywood actor has acted opposite an African-American actor, back in 1991, Sarita Choudhary was cast as the lead actress opposite none other than Denzel Washington in Mira Nair’s “Mississippi Masala.” It wasn’t easy for Mallika to do this film, as she had to start from scratch and do a lot of research about American politics, but our Bollywood star was up for the challenge!
