Naomi Calls out Cadbury for Racism

Naomi is calling out racism as she was compared to a chocolate bar for a campaign that was going on in London by the Cadbury. The supermodel reportedly called for black consumers to boycott the company’s products.

Campbell was said to be furious that the company used her name to promote a new product called Bliss. The advert says: ‘Move over Naomi – there’s a new diva in town.’ She was quoted as saying: ‘I am shocked. It’s upsetting to be described as chocolate, not just for me, but for all black women and black people. I do not find any humor in this.’ Her mother Valerie Morris hit out at the company – accusing them of harking back to a bygone era. She also stated: ‘I’m deeply upset by this racist advert. Do these people think they can insult black people and we just take it? This is the 21st century, not the 1950s. Shame on Cadbury,’ she told the Independent. Simon Woolley, from the campaign group Operation Black Vote, said the advert was ‘insensitive’. ‘Racism in the playground starts with black children being called ‘chocolate bar’. At best, this is insensitive, and at worst it demonstrates Cadbury’s utter disregard for causing offence,’ he told the Independent. A spokesman for Cadburys said the campaign was supposed to be ‘light-hearted’ – but said later that it was ‘no longer in circulation’.

As you can see racisim is still alive and well people….a damn chocolate bar SMH.
