Chicago’s Global Runway: Fashion with a cause!

The first annual Chicago Global Runway fashion show will be held on June 24that the Chicago Cultural Center.

 

Chicago Global Runway has partnered with Save A Mother, a charity that provides health solutions for the poor in India, and a portion of the proceeds from the show  will be donated to Save A Mother!

“We are proud to be part of Chicago Global Runway,” said Executive Director of Save A Mother, Rahul Singhal. “We hope to garner support for saving the lives of over 78,000 mothers who may die during pregnancy or childbirth this year in India.”

Shyamal and Bhumika’s Lakme Fashion Week Show

The purpose of the fashion show is to not only promote high end fashion but South Asian culture and causes as well by showcasing international and local talented emerging designers the the fashion lovers of Chicago! The show features several renowned South Asian  designers  including Shymal and Bhumika, a husband and wife team globally famous for their bridal couture and prêt collections, UK based designer Mani Kohli who will bring her Khoobsurat Collection for the first time to Chicago and Mumbai based designer Payal Singhal will present her latest fusion line. There will also be a special jewelry segment during the show that will be  presented by Reveti jewelers.

Designing newbies include Chicago based designer Sahar Dada and Hong Kong based Justin Mahtani will be styling the hosts for the evening. Akira Chicago will provide footwear for the models during the runway show.

“Each designer brings a different style and element to the show,” said Chicago Global Runway co-founder Kavian Dave. “We have done a fantastic job securing the top South Asian designers from around the world” says Chicago Global Runway co-founder Kaivan Dave.
