DJ Rekha, aka the Ambassador of Bhangra, has been invited back to the White House to join President Obama, family, and guests to the annual White House Easter celebration – the Easter Egg Roll. The event will take place on Monday April 25th, 2011.
DJ Rekha headlines Basement Bhangra in NYC and has become a household name in NY as a pioneer of bhangra. Her success was solidified last year when DJ Rekha had brought bhangra to the White House during their Diwali celebration.
Now, she’s ready desify the Easter Egg Roll. DJ Rekha will be mixing beats alongside fellow DJs MC Reena and DJ Willy Wow. Other music artists to attend include Willow Smith and Colbie Calliat – probably the Obama girls selections – among others.
Says DJ Rekha in a press release: “It’s an honor to be invited back at The White House for its biggest event of the year. I hope to meet Michelle and the kids this time.” We hope you get to meet them too Rekha and hope you enjoy the event!
