Star Plus’s Tere Liye to End!

Rumor has it that the love-hate relationship that Ekta Kapoor has with the STAR network is taking it’s toll on the Balaji Telefilms hit show “Tere Liye,” by replacing it with Swastik Productions’ new show “Navya.”

Although the daily soap queen denies any problems saying that things are great between her and the channel a high source has confirmed that “Tere Liye” will be ending despite it’s good ratings. These rumors may be true since Ekta Kapoor is working on three new shows, with nothing for STAR.

Geetanjali Tikekar, who plays the role of Nilanjana Ganguly said “Normally we actors are always the last to know. We are doing well and the team even won an award at the STAR Parivaar event in Macau.”

Even Harshad Chopra, the male lead of the show had no idea about the ending of the show!

“If it does go, then the fore sightedness on part of the channel may have played a part in the decision,” said Harshad Chopra. “They want to end shows before the audience gets tired of it. Did ‘Bidaai’ too not end on a similar high note?”

Apparently March 14th was supposed to be the last day for the show but it was extended a couple of weeks because the channel didn’t want to launch “Navya” in the midst of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2011 games. “Navya” is co-produced by Vivek Bahl, Executive Creative Director of STAR India and is a youth based show that will air in April.

Guess it’s time to count down the days until “Tere Liye” ends…
