Music What's Happenin'

Romay Gets it Right

Romay is definitely the artist to look out for in 2011. His first single “Indian Love Story” is the perfect example of classical and contemporary fusion. Romay samples the 1994 hit “Chura Ke Dil Mera,” from the hit movie Main Khiladi Tu Anaari and seamlessly weaves together east and west by pairing it with the up and coming musical form of dubstep. The result of this fusion is a hit track that appeals on so many different levels.

Romay was born and raised in London and has been DJing for over 20 years, working with the likes of Rumour Records, Strictly Digital, and Pivital Records and releasing 23 tracks in the process. He cites Ravi Shankar, The Prodigy, Bob Marley and Jean-Michelle Jarre as his influences. This wide range of influences and familiarity is reflected in his harmoniously melded various styles of vocal and instrumental music. In addition to releasing his single, “Indian Love Story,” Romay also launched his own record label “Acoustic Science.” “Indian Love Story,” is mastered by none other than Masterpiece, who has worked with other artists such as Chase and Status, Andy C and Skream All in all, there is much to look forward to from Romay and “Acoustic Science” in 2011.

“Indian Love Story” will be released on March 14, 2011 and is exclusively distributed by Nu-Urban.
