Prita Chhabra hits the Festival with Santa Clause

International recording artist Prita Chhabra has just been announced to

perform at the 2010 Santa Farewell Festival, taking place on December 18th from 11am

to 5pm at SODO (South Orange Avenue & Grant Street).

The Santa Farewell Festival will include a Holiday Pet Costume Contest, an

Entertainment Stage set-up on SODO’s Main Street with live holiday entertainment, the

World’s Smallest Christmas Parade, Santa Claus appearance, a drawing for $2,000.00 in

Downtown South merchant gifts, and a gathering of area corporate tent sponsors and

food vendors.

Currently based between Orlando and Toronto, Prita was born in Montreal but raised in

Florida, where her parents moved to start a daycare. Receiving her first taste of showbiz

while working and singing at Disney World, Prita even wrote the orchestra score for her

high school graduation at Cypress Creek, in addition to soon performing at concerts put

on by Valencia College, where she graduated with a degree in Psychology.

Prita’s debut CD, “Spread The Word”, released early 2010 on iTunes and became an

instant hit in Canada, receiving airplay on several top 40 radio stations and sending Prita

on a 6 month concert and media tour across the country. Prita’s performances included

dates in Montreal, Toronto, Kingston, Ottawa and Calgary, in addition to singing the

Canadian anthem at Canada’s Parliament and for many major sports teams including the

Toronto Raptors (NBA), Toronto Blue Jays (MLB), and Toronto Marlies (AHL) to name a

few.

In-between, Prita managed to squeeze in a trip home to Orlando to sing the US anthem

for the Orlando Magic, as well as be featured alongside world-renowned comedian

Russell Peters at Tampa’s first India International Film Festival.

Following Prita’s performance at the Orlando Santa Farewell Festival, Prita will be

returning to sing the US anthem for the Orlando Magic at their new Amway Center on

January 3rd, but will be making a 1 day trip back to Toronto to perform on a nationally

televised Christmas telethon on December 20th, which will also feature legendary

hockey Dad, Walter Gretzky, and former WWE superstar, Tiger Ali Singh.
