Hollywood’s Summer Blockbuster Season Is Here!

Hollywood summer movie season is dominated by two types of movie: action packed sequels (a new installment in a story) and reboots (remained versions of previously told stories).

With Marvel’s ‘Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol 2’ and Disney’s ‘Pirates Of The Caribbean 5’ kick-starting the blockbuster summer of 2017, here’s a sneak peak in to the other exciting movies in store for all of us in the summer period before the rains kick in! From talking cars to horrific mummies and ravaging apes and kickass superheroes, everyone has something to look forward to this June-July!

Cars 3D- 16th June:

Lightning McQueen and all the beloved talking cars are back in Disney-Pixar’s ‘Cars3D’. Starring the voice of Owen Wilson, Kerry Washington, Armie Hammer, Nathan Fillion and Bonnie Hunt amongst others; ‘Cars 3’ cruises into cinemas this June 16!

Wonder Woman- 2nd June:

Last summer, ‘Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice’ was widely considered a fiasco, but its shining star was Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman, who didn’t get nearly enough screen time. Now she’s got a whole movie to herself.

Spiderman: Homecoming- 7th July:

We’ve got ourselves a new Spider-Man in Tom Holland, who made his first appearance in ‘Captain America: Civil War’ last year. The trailer looks good, and it’s always exciting to see an actor breathe new life into a beloved character — and Spidey is nothing if not beloved.

War Of the Planet Of The Apes-14th July:

That ‘War for the Planet of the Apes’ is being directed by Matt Reeves (who also made 2014’s ‘Dawn of the Planet of the Apes’) is especially promising with stunning VFX.

The Mummy-9th June:

Tom Cruise stars in the reimagining of the Mummy franchise.

Transformers: The Last Knight-23rd June:

It is the fifth installment of the live-action Transformers film series and a direct sequel to 2014’s ‘Transformers: Age of Extinction’. The film was directed by Michael Bay, with Mark Wahlberg and Stanley Tucci reprising their roles from Age of Extinction alongside Josh Duhamel, Tyrese Gibson, and John Turturro from the first three movies.

Despicable Me 3- 30th June:

‘Despicable Me 3’ will be the third installment in the ‘Despicable Me’ film series, and the sequel to ‘Despicable Me 2’ (2013). Directed by Pierre Coffin and Kyle Balda, and co-directed by Eric Guillon, the film is written by Cinco Paul and Ken Daurio. It stars the voices of Steve Carell in a dual role, Kristen Wiig, and Trey Parker.
