Tollywood actress Sezal Sharma is all set to make waves with her Bollywood debut 31st October 1984 which starring Soha Ali Khan and Vir Das. We got in touch with the actress who revealed her experience working on the film, her web series Love, Life and Screw Ups and more.
So Sezal your name is very unique. Does it have to do anything with numerology ?
Yes it is numerology wise. I belive in numerology and astrology but not more than I believe in my effort and talent.
Tell us a bit about 31st October.
31st October is based on a real life story of a family who battles for their survival with many other Sikhs on the day of Indira Gandhi’s assassination. As a Punjabi I am fortunate enough to be a part of a film which deals with such a sensitive issue. My character in the film is very strong and bold and I look forward to receiving criticism and feedback for it.
Are you expecting this film to be your big ticket to Bollywood?
Honestly, I already feel welcome in Bollywood. God has really been kind to me and as for the film, I believe it is already a hit.
How has it been working with actors like Soha Ali Khan and Vir Das?
The answer is in your question. They are such talented individual that sharing a platform with them makes me a better actor. Above all they are good human beings, very down to earth and humble and very helpful.
What are your future career plans?
I am keeping my fingers crossed and as a new comer, I am blessed with quite a lot of interesting offers and I assure you I will give everything I do my 100%.
We have not seen you around much is that a concsious effort?
Indeed it was a conscious effort. I was waiting for the right time and place to prove my worth and this project is definitely worth the big reveal.
Are you open to doing films in other languages too or only hindi films for you?
Yes, as an actor one should not be bound by language. I am here to learn and excel. As for language, it is only meant to be spoken, the true challenge of an actor is emotion.
Are you currently dating anyone?
Yes I am dating but all my dates are booked for work and the professionals people. I prefer remaining focused on my career at the moment.
Tell us about th equation you share with Soha Ali Khan and Vir Das in the film?
I’m lucky to have such amazing co actors. They treat me like a baby, pamper me, take care of my needs and most importantly make me feel so welcomed. I would love to work with them again in the near future.
You are also doing a play with Chandan, Kamya Punjabi and several others. Tell us about that.
Yes I am doing a comedy along with Kamya and Chandan. I see theater as a means to excel and I believe every actor should do plays in order to enhance their talent. It really brings out the best in people.
