Television celebrities join the fight against Child Labor!

June 12th marks a very important day in the course of history. On this day, the World Labor Organization spreads awareness of child labor around the world. This year, the organization seeks to focus on the industrialization of child laborers around the world. Joining their fight are some of the prominent names in Indian Telvision. Here’s what they have to say:

Shashank Vyas It is very sad. I am surprised, at this time also we talk about 12 June that is World Day Against Child Labor. Its very disappointing to see kids working. We always say that they are the future of our nation. If the kids they work then when they will get time to study. On this note I also want to add the kids those who are working in reality shows and also in fiction shows. This is also called as child labour. People hire them. And parents should understand that this is the age where their child should study and play. They should enjoy their childhood. By making them work for 12 hours means that you snatching their childhood.

Saurabh Pandey A child is the future of coming generations and it’s our responsibility that we give children Education, good upbringing and wisdom no matter if it’s someone else’s child. After all every child will contribute as whole to our human society. It’s our responsibility to try our best to give our best to every child possible.

Shivin Narang What I have learnt is that child labour is because of poverty and lack of alternatives provided by the government and in some cases parents. I feel really very helpless and sad by seeing them like this on roads ,stations and public places. These children are the future of our country and we can see where it is going.I guess we all must try to help them along with the government with whatever best we can do.

Aishwarya Sakuja See obviously its very disheartening to see children working in their childhood to earn money and feed their tummies. We can easily say that in this age they have to study they should not be working but its just like a vicious circle we are caught in. If they won’t work then there is no one to take care of them. They themselves have to work and fulfill their needs. The government should show them the way to go to school and study and later they can do something that will fulfill their needs to earn money as well.

Rahul Raj Singh I really feel very sad when I see young children working on the roads and in factories. This is the time to get education and I really want to do something for their bright future.

Rashami Desai It’s painful to see kids working at a age where there should be focussing on studies. Government should take strong measures to reduce child labor. Poverty makes them get into this. Strongly there should be action taken in people who push kids into child labor.

Aniruddh Dave

Aniruddh Dave It’s an offense and every one should know this thing. I caught a guy who had come to work at my home for domestic help had fake birth certificate. When I asked his ID and he confessed that he is under age but working since last two years. I said him bye. So the thing is we have so many Chhotu in our country. We only forcing them to work in underage. Until they are not willing to work hard. you can’t force them to study to grow to read to learn things because of poverty and illiteracy. Who would earn bread for them. We can feel pity and can give few bucks helping them. But that’s how we are spoiling them. I used to work with NGO have seen lot of child labor. If they wont work then from where they will get money to fulfill their needs. I never got any proper answer.

Himmanshoo Ashok Malhotra Child labor is injustice towards chidlren. Everyone should collectively take initiative and not encourage it. Its disheartening to see kids working. Children lose their childhood in the process and that is unacceptable.

Amal Sehrawat Child labor refers to the employment of children in any work that deprives children of their childhood, interferes with their ability to attend regular school, and that is mentally, physically, socially or morally dangerous and harmful. This practice is considered exploitative by many international organizations. Legislations across the world prohibit child labor. It’s very sad to see children working on roads, stations and small restaurant.

Dhruv Singh I am so against child labor that breaks my heart even this question arises that how can someone allow a child to work and I am very much against this. I wish and I pray people should not engaged in child labor at all because it a very very bad omen and child labor is something which all of us are fighting for and people should always look into this that there should be no child labor from now on wards till we live.

Laksh Lalwani

Laksh Lalwani Child labor is a very bad thing. Children lose innocence and that reflects bad on the society we live it. Government and we all should take strict action and law should been forced against child labour. India is of the people, by the people for the people but it should reflect in reality too.

Sandeep Anand

Sandeep Anand I feel very sad when I see children working on roads, station and small restaurants. According to International Labor Organization (ILO’s ) data, hundreds of millions of girls and boys throughout the world are involved in work that deprives them from receiving adequate education, health, leisure and basic freedoms, Violating this way their rights. Of these children, more than half are exposed to the worst forms of child labor. These worst forms of child labour include work in hazardous environments, slavery, or other forms of forced labor, illicit activities such as drug trafficking and prostitution, as well as involvement in armed conflict.

Vahbbiz Dorabjee Well I don’t know have a very mixed reaction towards it because there is so much of poverty also in our country so its all co-related. Because if there is so much of poverty in the country don’t you know where you get your next meal and there are people on the road. So then sometimes even little children need to work but overall our government should take some strict action they should get the kids educated and provide a better life then it would not lead to all this. Because there is so much poverty it leads to child labour and children should have the right to enjoy their childhood. So it all depends on our government.
