Friends and colleagues react to Vatsal-Ishita's 'no dating clause'!

The world of television can be full of surprises with the latest being the no dating clause between Vastal Sheth, Ishita Datta and their production house. As per reports the actors had signed a no dating clause prior to joining the cast of Rishton Ka Saudagar – Baazigar. Here’s what their friends and colleagues had to say on that:

The dating clause is not acceptable. How can you tell someone whom to fall in love with. Love happens on its own. Pyar koi khel nahi. But it is an individual matter and choice to agree or disagree to such a contract.

No Dating clause is weird. One can’t control if the heart beats. As long as co-stars are not disturbing the shoot or unit and maintaining professional decorum it doesn’t matter.

No dating of co-stars is quite a unique clause. I haven’t experienced such a situation. No actor wants to spoil the atmosphere no the set. Everyone is supposed to be professional on the set. Signing a contract is individual choice.

Well a clause like this hasn’t been there in my contracts ever. I don’t know how does something like this hampers the functioning of a show. It’s a funny clause for me for 2 reasons. You cannot interfere in an artist’s personal life. When was the last time some actor openly declared that he / she is dating their co star. Even after being in a relationship everyone denies the same.

It’s like keeping your hormones under a contractual threat! But in the end it is solely a professional decision. Fortunately/ unfortunately so far I am free and happy. I have never experienced any such contract or clauses. Actors know what they are doing. Personal and professional life are separate.
