The cat’s out of the bag! After Coldplay frontman Chris Martin visited Delhi last year and put on an impromptu show at the Hauz Khas cafe, we’ve now learned that an even bigger surprise may have come from his trip to India! Bollywood starlet Sonam Kapoor is all set to make her Western debut in Coldplay’s next music video, ‘Hymn to the Weekend’ from their album A Head Full of Dreams.
Sonam Kapoor reportedly shot for the video, which was directed by Ben Mor, in just one day last October at the Golfa Devi Temple in Worli and the Vasai fort.
We had reported last year that Chris Martin and his boys shot parts of their video in Worli and at the Vasai fort. Reports today state that Sonam too shot her scenes at the very same locations in a daylong shoot. The actress will reportedly be seen sporting a ghagra choli with the traditional mang tika and a nose ring.
The actress herself confirmed the news to Times of India, saying,
“I love Coldplay’s music and so does the world. It was a huge honour to be a part of the video. It’s a great concept and I had a lot of fun shooting for it.”
Even more exciting? Beyonce has lent her vocals to the song! Will Queen Bey feature in the video alongside Sonam Kapoor? I guess we’ll have to wait and see!
