One of the 5 teams participating in the eagerly awaited Pakistan Super League, Islamabad United (ISLU), proudly welcomes the pride of our country to the ISLU family.
Superstar Fawad Khan will be the Team Ambassador as ISLU gear up for the first season of the biggest cricketing extravaganza to begin next month in Dubai. The partnership with Fawad comes naturally as the team consists of top cricket stars from not only Pakistan, but around the world, and who better to represent them than Fawad who has made a huge impact at home as well as across the border.
Through his versatile acting and Greek god looks, Fawad has achieved superstardom on both sides of the border and is a pride of Pakistan. He is a true ambassador of the country and the Islamabad United has hit a sixer with him on board.
About his association with the team, Fawad said:
“I’m delighted to partner with Islamabad United. It’s an honour for me to be the Team Ambassador. I have been a huge fan of cricket since childhood and now to be associated with the biggest cricket league in this way feels great. I am more than excited about the event and eagerly looking forward to it. I will be there for the matches.”
The ISLU team comprises national as well as international names such as Shane Watson (AUS), Andre Russell (WI), Misbahul Haq, Samuel Badree (WI), Mohammad Irfan, Brad Haddin (AUS), Sharjeel Khan, Mohammad Sami, Khalid Latif, Babar Azam, Imran Khalid, Kamran Ghulam, Umar Amin, Sam Billings (ENG), Rumman Raees, Amad Butt, and Ashar Zaidi, Saeed Ajmal, Umar Siddiq as supplementary.
For the team director’s role, ISLU has appointed cricket legend Wasim Akram, who has actively been promoting the team after players draft round. The head coach of the team is Dean Jones.
