Vocalist and producer Arjun has performed with Chris Brown and clocked up a staggering 140 million YouTube views and is part of a new breed of Indian musicians who aim to follow in the footsteps of Zayn Malik and Naughty Boy.
“My music is a fusion of RnB and Bollywood. I exist in these two worlds but I’m not fully in either of them. My music relates to people like myself who are Asian but listen to Drake and Chris Brown.”
The original version sees Shayal serve up this perfectly crafted Rap/RnB crossover single. Arjun’s enlisted skills of J Holiday who adds his silky RnB vocal style to the hook. Whilst rising American rapper Tyler adds some harder hitting state-side bars to the verses. Way Up’s slick production has all the ingredients to get the club jumping whilst Shayal’s Indian background and cultural diversity and Arjun’s rap shines through to give a different edge to his production.
Following the release of ‘Way Up’. Shayal has tracks with Omarion (MMG, the label owned by Rick Ross) and Mavado (We the Best Music owned by DJ Khaled) in the bag ready for release in 2016.
