There are some dreams that are just meant to become realities. UK Singer Navin Kundra has always dreamed about performing in one of the UK’s biggest stadiums – Wembley Stadium, but little did he know that the dream would become reality at the biggest event the UK has seen in years. In the past couple years Navin has had a chance to perform for UK’s Royal Family (Prince Charles and Camilla), and now for Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi at yesterday’s (November 13) “UK Welcomes Modi” event! This has solidified Navin as one of the UK’s brightest stars. The last couple years have been especially wonderful for Navin who has scored six number one singles, breaking a Guinness World Record and even being invited by the Royal Family to perform for them at St James’s Palace. Navin rocked the crowd of over 60,000 people for the landmark event at Wembley Stadium with his amazing vocals!

Post-event, Navin tweeted out – “Dreams do come true. Thank you!” Not bad for an independent artist who is relatively unknown in India, but is amongst the most prominent artists in the UK. He is now making all the right moves towards global stardom and last night’s performance is sure to send him stratospheric.
Speaking about his performance he said, “I wanted to give the crowd a taste of everything. Something retro, something patriotic, something original that I wrote and definitely something crossover.”
Indeed, he delivered as a sea of lights held by thousands danced and sang with him. Earlier this year he was invited to sing on PM David Cameron’s Conservative election song which went viral online. “I definitely didn’t write that”, laughed Navin.

So where to next? “Bollywood”, he exclaimed, “I think it’s high time I took my voice to India to realize a dream that I’ve carried with me since I was a child. The time is now and I’m looking to work with the right company out there”, he enthused. It’s no wonder he is feeling confident after joining an elite line up with music giants Jay Sean and Kanika Kapoor in Wembley. “Now anything is possible”, he said.
The highlight was Navin singing “Mere Desh Ki Dharti”, an apt song for this type of event. He burst into the song holding an impossibly long note at the opening and cleverly incorporated the Indian Prime Minister’s name into the lyrics to rapturous applause from the 60,000 plus strong crowd.
He also gave a heart warming rendition of his number one hit, “Tere Liye” and finished with a stadium shaking version of A.R. Rahman’s “Jai Ho”. It has been televised worldwide to millions and is gathering countless views online.
Of course, the historic #ModiInUK event was not without its controversy as protesters made their presence felt and their voices heard both at the event and across the media. Navin explained, “When you have someone as high profile as PM Modi, there are always going to be those for and against him. This wasn’t a political statement on my part at all, this was an opportunity to create history, representing two great nations which I’m a part of to give the performance of a lifetime.”
Now focused on his Indian dream, Navin has just released a new 18 track album, “The Collection” available from his website at www.navin-online.com.
