The 24th Bond adventure (Spectre) has already sparked a box office blitzkrieg amassing more than 300 million dollars worldwide in global markets. After setting new box office opening records in nearly every country in which it opened last weekend, Spectre, the 24th James Bond adventure, opened wide around the world with stunning results from an additional 72 territories, including the United States, bringing the film’s worldwide cummulative to $300 million in less than two weeks. In the US, the film is the #1 movie in America, and it opened #1 in all 71 international territories in which it opened this weekend.
As India is gearing up for Spectre’s release this Friday, 20th November in English, Hindi, Tamil and Telugu, the bond frenzy is clearly evident, with the top spy even getting an honorable mention by none other than our Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
In his acclaimed and iconic speech at London’s Wembley Stadium, before an audience of some 60,000,—as he introduced a Rupee bond to help fund the Indian railways, PM Modi expressed how James Bond is the epitome of entertainment.
“When we think of Bond, the first thing that comes to mind is James Bond. The next thing is Brooke Bond tea. James Bond provides entertainment and Brooke Bond refreshes us,”
PM Modi said to a delighted crowd.
