Adult star-turned actress Sunny Leone has been working overtime preparing for her film and promoting it all over India. She is determined to prove herself a worthy actress and looks like her hard work has paid off! The opening box office sales for Ek Paheli Leela has reached Rs. 5.30 Crores!
Leela has beat out the opening of some big named films that have released recently. Amitabh Bachchan, Akshara Hasan and Dhanush’s film Shamitabh managed to only rake in Rs. 3.18 Crores. Anushka Sharma’s NH 10 raked in Rs, 3.35 Crores, Sushant Singh Rajput’s bengali crime film, Detective Byomkesh Bakshy made Rs. 4.41 Crores, Sonam Kapoor’s Dolly ki Doli only reached Rs. 1.7 Crores and Bipasha Basu’s Alone made Rs. 3.52 Crores. Ayushman Khurrana had two films release recently, Hawaizaada and Dum Laga Ke Haisha which raked in Rs. 57 Lakh and Rs. 1.07 Crores respectively.
It is a pleasant surprise to see Leela come out on top, it is actually the highest grossing film at the moment besides Fast and Furious 7 in India right now! Congrats Sunny Leone, Jay Bhanushali and Rajneesh Duggal! Although we shouldn’t be too surprised, the trailer of the film garnered over 14 million views on YouTube. Keep it locked for more updates!
