Lakmé Fashion Week Curtain Raiser – India’s premier fashion trade platform turns 15!

Lakmé Fashion Week Summer/Resort 2015 marks the completion of fifteen glorious years of fashion. India’s premier fashion platform, today unveiled the list of 84 participating designers and 15 sponsors today, as part of the celebratory season. To be held from 18th to 22nd March 2015 at Palladium Hotel, Mumbai, the forthcoming season will host a perfect mix of upcoming talent and the industry’s most established names that will set an unparalleled benchmark of diversity, creativity and fashion.

To celebrate its 15th anniversary Lakmé Fashion Week visited multiple cities before raising the curtain in Mumbai, giving each city an exclusive sneak peak of the upcoming, power packed season. Kolkata witnessed an exclusive preview with the city’s very own Grand Finale designer, Anamika Khanna. The excitement continued in Delhi as Manish Malhotra shared insights on the Blue Runway Show as part of the global WEvolve campaign against gender-based violence at Lakmé Fashion Week. Post a stupendous response in Mumbai, Lakmé Fashion Week took model auditions to Bangalore to select 5 more fresh faces of fashion who will walk the ramp this season. Sabyasachi a name that resonates with Lakmé Fashion Week’s journey and success to open the 15 year celebrations with a befitting opening show.What’s more, Lakmé Fashion Week will stage the best of Pakistani fashion on the Indian ramp with Zara Shahjahan returning to showcase her collection second time. The ultimate design priestess Anamika Khanna to bring ‘Sculpt’ – Lakmé’s fashion forecast for 2015, to life at the Grand Finale of Lakmé Fashion Week Summer/Resort 2015. Anamika’s craftsmanship lends itself seamlessly to this cutting edge trend forecast by Lakmé. While WEvolve will launch its global campaign that empowers young men and women to challenge norms that lead to gender-based violence at Lakmé Fashion Week this season, Jabong Stage will act as encouragement for new age designers.
