Mohammad Hossain, a University of Illinois Chicago (UIC) student is behind bars after being accused of sexual assault. He was arrested on a charge of felony aggravated criminal sexual assault and his bail has been set to $500,000. Nineteen-year-old, Hossain brought a fellow nineteen-year-old UIC student back to his dorm room on Saturday, February 21st. It allegedly began as a consensual visit. Assistant State’s Attorney, Sarah Karr said the alleged victim said she had “previously been intimate” with him, however, the two were not dating and the abuse was not consensual.

She told the police that she removed all her clothing at Hossain’s direction, except for her bra and underwear. It was after that, that Hossain allegedly tied her hands and legs to the bed. Once she was constrained, she said that he shoved a necktie in her mouth and removed her bra and underwear. After that, he allegedly began striking her with a belt.

The alleged victim told him to stop and “began shaking her head and crying,” Karr said. According to the arrest report, Hossain allegedly continued to whip her and even hit her with his fists. The woman managed to wriggle free, however, Karr said that Hossain held her arms behind her back as he continued to assault her, despite her pleas for him to stop.

It was the arrival of Hossain’s roommate that stopped the alleged assault. It is reported that Hossain held the door shut, so that the roommate could not enter and it was in the process of all this that the woman managed to escape and notify someone.

Hossain was arrested later that night and allegedly admitted to the police that he had assaulted the woman and had “done something wrong”, according to the arrest report. Hossain also said that he was reenacting from the film, Fifty Shades of Grey.
