Syracuse University Students Travel to Bollywood to Do The Lungi Dance!

Twelve students from Syracuse University, New York are visiting Mumbai to learn filmmaking and production as part of SU’s ‘Bollywood Practicum’ summer program. The course is taught at director Subhash Ghai’s film school Whistling Woods International- making it the fifth time the University has collaborated with WWI.

The students recently spent three days, with the help of WWI faculty, preparing to shoot a music video for the very popular ‘Lungi Dance’ from Chennai Express.

“I’ve never been on a shoot that ran so smoothly, professionally, and efficiently…but really, I kept realizing that this moment was not one that comes every day,” said one of the students on the SUBollywood blog.

“Now the word is out that this is happening and that there will be video proof of it, so I guess there’s no other option than to kill it today. Boom boom, Chalo!,” blogged another student right before the shoot.

“Students from Syracuse University at Whistling Woods for the SUBollywood program. Lovely to see them do the lungi dance,” said Meghna Ghai Puri, President of Whistling Woods International.

Looks like the girls and the entire team are really kicking butt in B-town, and that Lungi Dance style!
