Soch’s Bollywood Debut in Mohit Suri’s Ek Villain on Awari!

From Zeher to Aashiqui 2, when it comes to chart-busting music, as a director, it may well be noted that, Mohit Suri, definitely has the best track record. Bollywood’s director Mohit Suri, is known to have given Pakistani singers like Atif Aslam and Mustafa Zahid a big break in their careers in Bollywood. Once again, Mohit Suri is all set to bring in well reckoned Pakistani musicians, but this time to the contrary it’s a Lahore based ‘band’ “SOCH” in his forthcoming romantic-thriller “Ek Villain”.

The track titled ‘Awari’, is written, composed and rendered by Adnan Dhool and Rabi Ahmed of Soch. In contrary to the original version featured in Nescafe Basement (Season 1) under the mentorship of Xulfi in 2012, Awari in Ek Villain will feature female vocals of the US-based Momina Mustehsan, in a duet with Adnan Dhool.

Ek Villain stars Sidharth Malhotra and Shraddha Kapoor in the lead roles, while Riteish Deshmukh makes his debut as an antagonist with this film. Ek Villain is produced by Ekta Kapoor under the banner of her production house Balaji Motion Pictures. Ek Villain is expected to release on June 27, 2014.

Band members of Soch, Vocalist/Lyricist Adnan Dhool and Gutiraist/ Lyricist Rabi Ahmed are one of the pioneering artists of Pakistan’s award winning Nescafe Basement. Featured in season 1 of Nescafe Basement in 2012, both Adnan Dhool and Rabi Ahmed of Soch were mentored by none other than Pakistan’s well acknowledged maestro Xulfi.

‘Awari’ is not a typical item number that every Bollywood movie has. ‘Awari’ will be filmed as a rock-style bar track, laden with emotions and is in fact, organic to a pivotal sequence in the film’s second half. Prachi fell in love with the track on first hearing and the plan is to style her in a never-seen-before avatar.

Speaking at this moment Soch said, that the band is extremely delighted to do this project with Mohit Suri and represent Pakistani music industry across borders as well as internationally. Soch would like to take this opportunity to thank none other than, Pakistan’s very own maestro Zulfiqar J. Khan (Xulfi). From Awari’s inception in Nescafe Basement’s season 1 to Awari’s feature in Ek Villain, Soch says, Xulfi Bhai has always believed and trusted in the band’s abilities. Soch has special heartfelt gratefulness for Xulfi Bhai for not only mentoring but also for playing a vital role in opting for Awari in Nescafe Basement and further more believing in the fact that Awari will make it big and helping us to make this release possible.

Stay tuned as Soch bring you ‘Awari’ for the new film Ek Villian!
