Super 30 is the story of Indian mathematician Anand Kumar, who prepared 30 underprivileged kids for IIT for free. It is a story that is sure to inspire many but known by very few.

Anand (Hrithik Roshan) faces the harsh realities of life at a young age. After trying to make ends meet, he joins a coaching center to prep kids for IIT examination. While earning well as a teacher there, he realizes that in doing so he is aiding in depriving the underprivileged talented kids’ opportunities to move further in life. He then starts his own coaching class for the underprivileged where he coached 30 students for the JEE-IIT exams. This came to be known as the Super 30 program.

Talking about performances, Hrithik aces the role of Anand Kumar with utmost honesty. He pulls off the role as the academic professor to the T with his dialect and personality. You will commend Virendra Saxena’s positivity as Anand’s father, Ishwar. Pankaj Tripathi though playing a serious character bring his comic element here as well. Aditya Shrivastava, Amit Sadh and Nandish Singh give beautiful performances as well. Mrunal Thakur gets into the c=skin of the character and you are sure to fall in love with her.

Vikas Bahl’s done a good job is bringing the story to life. The cinematography lives up to the expectation as it is as real as the way Patna would look. The dialogues are inspirational and may stick with you. The music is good and doesn’t seem forced.

The one drawback of the film is that it feels a bit long. The first half is good but the second half drags. Certain scenes in the film seem overdramatized but it can be cited for being a Bollywood film.

Watch the film, for even if it’s dramatized it is still inspirational and motivational.

We give Super 30 3 stars.
