Pati Patni Aur Woh is the story about Abhinav Tyagi, a civil engineer who works at PWD Kanpur. As soon as he finishes his studies he gets married to Vedika.
His boring life suddenly fills with joy and excitement when a budding entrepreneur, Tapasya Singh arrives from Delhi at his office. Tapasya has come to Kanpur in concern with a business that involves Abhinav’s office & he helps her in her endeavor. He starts to enjoy her company and the attention he gets from her. Soon his excitement fades away when she learns about him being married.
To retain her budding interest in him, Abhinav cooks up an imaginary tale describing a very unhappy married life. This lie helps him to gain her sympathy and affection but little does he know that one day his lie will become the cause of making his life a living hell.
The film has many hidden characters that are worth watching. One must watch this film to know what new a wife can do when she catches her husband with ‘Woh‘!
Director Mudassar Aziz has focused on every minute details in the film. Some parts of the film are highly entertaining, specially when it showcase the friendship of Kartik and Aparshakti. The first half of the film is interesting while the second half is a bit slow and as every scene passes by you can predict what will be happening next.
However, it is a good attempt to recreate the old magic with a modernistic manner. The camera work is amazing even the song of the films are great and it has good timing.
Talking about the performances, Kartik Aaryan as ‘Pati’ was fabulous on screen. Right from his dialogue delivery to the mono-logs, everything went on so perfect scene by scene. The only thing in some scenes where he is shown regretting things they should have been cut short and less dramatic for Kartik’s part.
While the two ladies Bhumi Pednekar and Ananya Panday have beautifully showcased the modern girl twist, the two were suitable and best being ‘Patni and Woh’. Above all viewers will love the performance of Aparshakti Khurana. His presence on screen was magical and as a friend, he was the best choice for the role. Even other characters were powerful and have their respective presence of power in roles. Like Sunny Singh, he will be loved for bringing out the twist in the film and making it so real. Also, the kid who played Rakesh Sharma’s character has entertained the audience. Kriti Sanon was one of the best surprise packets in the end.
We give this film 3 stars, you can enjoy your weekend watching Pati Patni Aur Woh.
