The film is directed by Ravi Jadhav, and stars Pankaj Tripathi as the former Prime Minister, Atal Vajpayee. It follows his life journey to becoming Prime Minister, while also being an esteemed poet and statesman.
Jadhav’s direction is a bit mistimed during certain areas of the film, with scenes that don’t always fit into the plot and the storyline. For the audience, much of the film is drawn out and overly dramatized with the background score and editing. However, overall, the film is quite heart warming for audience members to learn more about Shri Atal Vajpayee’s life.
Pankaj Tripathi’s performance is quite impactful as the former Prime Minister, and it makes the viewer feel for him and vouch for him to be successful. However, with the body of work that Tripathi has done, ‘Main Atal Hoon’ falls a bit flat, in terms of a nuanced performance.
