Ananya, Siddhant and Gourav play the roles of Ahana, Imaad, and Neil, three best friends who are each trying to carve out their path in the world as they navigate their mid-twenties. Each of their characters deals with changes within themselves as well their friendship with each other throughout the film, while they learn what the negative impacts of focusing on social media can look like.

Siddhant Chaturvedi does a phenomenal job of portraying an emotionless man who is afraid of sexual intimacy, which can be seen with Imaad’s need for constantly using dating apps like Tinder even while being in committed relationships. At the end of the film, Chaturvedi’s character, Imaad, goes into a monologue as his career in the film is as a comedian. Imaad reveals why he’s afraid of intimacy, and Chaturvedi’s performance made me tear up as a viewer.

Ananya Panday’s performance as Ahana is by far her best performance yet. She does a great job of showing the internal struggle of a girl trying to navigate a recent breakup, while comparing herself to other influencers and women online. Gourav Adarsh, who plays Neil, also gives a fantastic performance as a gym trainer with incredibly low self-confidence, who even takes drastic measures to try and bring others down to make himself feel better.

‘Kho Gaye Hum Kahan’ is one of the best dramedies released on Netflix this year, and should be watched by everyone struggling with navigating their mid-twenties!
