4.5 Urbanasian Rating

Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge is not just a sequel. It is a cinematic war cry — a nearly four-hour behemoth of a spy thriller that grabs you by the collar in its very first frame and refuses to let go until the very last. If Part 1 was a slow-burning fire, Part 2 is the explosion we’ve all been waiting for.

Ranveer Singh as Hamza Ali Mazari (real identity: Jaskirat Singh Rangi) is nothing short of extraordinary. This is Ranveer at his absolute peak — raw, ferocious, emotionally devastating. He carries the film on his shoulders with the ease of a man born to play a role like this. There are moments where he breaks down completely that will leave audiences shattered, and moments where he’s pure menace that will make theatres erupt in applause.

The Cast That Makes This Universe Breathe:

  • Ranveer Singh as Hamza/Jaskirat — The RAW agent on a mission that has become deeply, dangerously personal.
  • Sanjay Dutt reprising his role inspired by real-life Pakistani police officer Chaudhry Aslam Khan — commanding, unpredictable, unforgettable.
  • Arjun Rampal as the villain rooted in the terrifying legacy of Ilyas Kashmiri — cold, calculating, and absolutely chilling.
  • R. Madhavan as the NSA figure inspired by Ajit Doval — the steady, strategic hand guiding the storm.
  • Sara Arjun reprising her role with more depth and emotional weight this time around.
  • Rakesh Bedi delivering scene-stealing moments with perfect precision.
  • Gaurav Gera proving once again that there are no small roles in Aditya Dhar’s world.
  • Danish Pandor adding layers to a universe packed with complex players.
  • Manav Gohil making his mark as a new addition to the ensemble.
  • Saumya Tandon in a pivotal role that surprises and satisfies.
  • Danish Iqbal as Bade Sahab — the most spine-chilling addition to the franchise. His portrayal of Dawood Ibrahim is the kind of villain energy that gives you goosebumps.
  • Yami Gautam in a special appearance that is brief but absolutely electric.

Director Aditya Dhar has crafted a sprawling revenge saga that spans continents, criminal empires, and the very soul of a man who has given everything to his country. The action sequences are jaw-dropping, filmed across Punjab, Ladakh, Chandigarh, Maharashtra, and Thailand. Cinematographer Vikash Nowlakha delivers some of the most visually stunning frames Bollywood has seen in years, and Shashwat Sachdev’s score pulses through every scene like a second heartbeat.

Is it perfect? Not quite. At 229 minutes, there are stretches where the pacing stumbles, and some of the supporting character development feels sacrificed in favor of spectacle. But when Dhurandhar 2 is firing on all cylinders — which is most of the time — it is an absolutely electrifying experience.

This is mass entertainment at its most ambitious. A patriotic blockbuster. A revenge thriller. A love letter to the undercover operatives who sacrifice everything in the shadows.
