There is nothing more refreshing than seeing legendary actors, Amitabh Bachchan, and Rishi Kapoor comes together on-screen play the roles of father and son with a narrative that leaves with a smile on your face at the end.

102 Not Out is written by Saumya Joshi and directed by Umesh Shukla. This is a story every child or parent of any generation can relate to. You will either be left with various thoughts, but more importantly to live while you are alive and not let death catch up with you while you are still living. The direction of this film is truly phenomenal. As an aspiring filmmaker, I was inspired by Umesh’s directional craft through this film and the dialogue of the film. There are various dialogues that have definitely stuck with me walking out of the theater today.

Where do I begin with Amitabh Bachchan and Rishi Kapoor? Such divine talent no other film industry has, and putting this duo together on-screen many years later has only made us feel the Amar Akbar Anthony (1977) nostalgia but also realize we are a film industry that is gifted with such talent. Amitabh playing Rishi’s father was never a dynamic I could ever think of or imagine, but seeing it come to life on-screen was an experience. I always say this to people, but I am happy to be part of the kind of cinema that is blooming in today’s world.

Other aspects of the film which stood out had to be the cosmetic makeup and look for both Amitabh Bachchan and Rishi Kapoor. Both artists look extremely young off-screen and making them look 75 and 102 must have been a process but one done extremely well. Laxman Utekar cinematography definitely stood out to me as well. I loved the spoofs of old Hindi songs from the digital Caravan and record player through the film and the mini banters between the two characters.

102 Not Out is a must watch film for all generations!

My Favorite track from the film!
