Actress Pallavi Shrada

A woman with substance, a stunner before the camera, that rare combo of beauty and brains, Pallavi Sharda is the new force to reckon with in B-town. Last seen in Besharam as the leading lady opposite Ranbir Kapoor, Pallavi is making the dream journey from Down Under to every Indian’s heart.

An Indian-Australian film and theatre actress, Pallavi is an honours graduate from the University of Melbourne, where she completed her LLB/BA in Media & Communications and Diploma in Modern Languages (French). She is also a trained Bharatanatyam dancer and has performed extensively all over the world in many dance forms, not just in classical Indian but also Latin American dance.

After shifting base to Mumbai in 2010, she was first spotted by Karan Johar himself when he cast her in an important cameo in the Shah Rukh Khan starrer ‘My Name is Khan’. Soon after, Pallavi went on to play the leading role opposite Manoj Bajpayee in ‘Dus Tola’.

In 2011 and 2012, Pallavi travelled all over as the lead actress in Shruti Merchant’s touring musical the ‘Taj Express’, choreographed by Vaibhavi Merchant. In 2012 she starred in the Australian comedy film, ‘Save Your Legs’ and became the first ever actress of Indian descent to perform in a leading role in mainstream Australian cinema.
Back in Bollywood, Pallavi went on to play the female lead opposite Ranbir in Abhinav Kashyap’s biggie ‘Besharam’, which grabbed a lot of eyeballs. She is currently shooting for Vibhu Puri’s ‘Bambai Fairytale’ alongside the hot and happening Ayushmann Khurrana.
Besides her triumphs in front of the camera, Pallavi is a cultural ambassador for India-Australia relations and features prominently on panels and in forums on the issues of women’s empowerment, development and intercultural communications. That’s what puts the Sharda lady in a league of her very own.
